An accomplished, results-oriented, bilingual leader with a passion for growing and developing high-performing teams, Pam has worked in both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors and has extensive experience in strategic planning, media relations, brand marketing, internal and corporate communications, issues management, advertising and events.
Her gift for storytelling and love of entertainment led Pam to spend the first 15 years of her career in the film and television industry, leading communications and marketing teams at Alliance Atlantis (now Corus Entertainment) and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). At TIFF, Pam oversaw the development and execution of high-impact, integrated communications strategies which successfully contributed to building global awareness of the brand by tripling the international media coverage of the Festival over three years, while driving revenue by keeping the brand top-of-mind among consumers and media both at home and abroad.
Fully fluent in French and English, Pam led the media relations strategy for Quebec and Francophone media at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games on behalf of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
Pam came to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in February 2017 as Vice-President, Communications, after having led the communications strategy for the amalgamation of CCS and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF). Her role at CCS has steadily expanded, and she is now leading all aspects of marketing and communications, including thought leadership, brand strategy, issues and change management, advertising, creative, digital engagement, content development and market research.
Pam has a Master of Arts in Communications from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has also completed a Master's Certificate in Marketing Communications Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Pam was a member of the Board of Directors for Our Place Peel, an emergency shelter for homeless youth in Mississauga, for 6 years.
Like so many of us, members of Pam’s family have been affected by cancer and the cause is close to her heart.
