Beyond Cash: How Asset-Based and Blended Giving Are Reshaping Donor Growth
Thursday October 8, 2026 TBA
The next wave of fundraising growth is already underway and it is not driven by cash. Across the sector, donors are increasingly giving through assets such as donor-advised funds, securities and future estate commitments. Once concentrated in major gifts, these approaches are now reshaping mid-level and legacy programs, unlocking greater lifetime value and deeper relationships.

This session brings together leaders from donor strategy, wealth management and community foundations to explore how asset-based and blended giving are transforming donor engagement across the lifecycle. At the heart of the conversation is a shift in mindset: from what a donor can give today to the impact they want to create over time.

Through real-world examples, panelists will show how integrated strategies across teams are unlocking new growth—and why asset-based giving is quickly becoming essential to high-value fundraising.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Recognize how donor behaviour is moving from income-based giving to asset-based giving across all value segments, not just major gifts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand asset-based giving into mid-level programs
  • Explore how DAFs, securities and other asset vehicles are increasingly relevant across broader donor audiences and not limited to top-tier donors.
  • Learn how integrating current and future gifts creates more meaningful donor relationships and increases long-term revenue potential.
  • Understand how aligning marketing, mid-level, major and legacy strategies enables a more cohesive donor journey and reduces missed opportunities.
  • Gain practical language and approaches to shift conversations toward donor intent, values and lifetime contribution.
